Selling your home in today's market is definitely a decision not to be taken lightly, and I understand the mix of emotions that come with it. As a real estate broker, I've seen firsthand the excitement, the uncertainty, and sometimes the anxiety that can accompany this journey. That's why I'm here to offer some guidance as someone who genuinely wants to help you navigate this process with confidence and peace of mind. I'm not here to offer you some wordy sales pitch about how awesome I am. That's lame. I'm here to let you know that I too have been in your shoes and offer some support to you. Here are a few very simple things you can do to get started.

So for those of you who may be thinking about selling your home, let's talk about your first step. No, I'm not going to tell you find an agent. I'm going to tell you prepare your home for sale! Decluttering, minor repairs, maintenance that needs to be done, and cleaning. These are things that need to be done and why not do them as soon as you decide to sell rather than wait to see what someone says?

Next, understand your goals and expectations. People rarely stop to think about how long it may take to sell or if they are willing to offer concessions or make repairs, and how much might that cost? Figure out your income goal in terms of equity and profit. How much do you need to go into your next step after you sell? If you hire an agent what are your expectations? Are you prepared to clean your home at the drop of a hat to allow a buyer to see it and how much notice would you like to have? Do you have your current mortgage payoff? Are there any HOA assessments? Take a minute to sit down and make a quick list of these types of questions. If you hire an agent, they will ask you anyway.

Finally, remember to breathe. The best advice that I can give you is ASK QUESTIONS. There is nothing wrong with asking questions and there are no dumb questions. If you want, reach out to an agent and include your list of questions. A great agent is happy to answer those for you and won't push themselves on you while doing it.
