Ah February, the month where our winter chill begins to loosen its grip and Myrtle Beach begins to come alive again. While summer may our peak season with lots sandy toes and sun-soaked afternoons, Myrtle Beach also has its own unique charm during the cooler months. Here's how to make the most of life at the beach or your beach vacation in the cooler months.

1. Take a morning walk along the shore
The crisp sea breeze and the soothing sound of waves crashing create a serene start to your day. Though you will definitely need a coat (and remember it is always windy at the beach) there is nothing like a quiet morning on the sand overlooking a sunny ocean.

2. Golf, Golf, and more Golf
Myrtle Beach is a renowned golf destination, and February provides ideal weather for hitting the greens. With fewer players on the courses and sunshine without the intense heat of summer afternoons, you can enjoy a more leisurely round against the backdrop of picturesque landscapes.

3. Barefoot Landing or Broadway at the Beach
February temperatures in Myrtle Beach are typically mild and some days can be quite comfortable, making it an ideal time for outdoor activities or dining. Barefoot Landing offers many different options for shopping and dining set along boardwalks over the water. Crooked Hammock Brewery offers yoga on the yard, outdoor dining, ping pong, bonfires, and more as well as indoor seating. Savannah Bee gives you a close up view of how a bee hive really works from the inside as well as delicious samples of honey and did I mention their mead bar? These are just a few things to do at Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach. Just down the road in Myrtle Beach you have Broadway at the Beach which offers many attractions in addition to dining and shopping. You can spend half a chilly day inside of Ripley's Aquarium (which is half price for locals) then head over to Wonderworks and have three levels of hands on fun. Coming soon is Tiger Wood's signature miniature golf course, PopStroke, in the Key West Village section (my FAVORITE section). if it's warm enough, you can "hang out" outside all day at The Hangout!

4. Explore the Boardwalk or the Marshwalk
Located in downtown Myrtle Beach, the iconic Myrtle Beach Boardwalk is a place to enjoy the charming shops, beachfront cafes, the gorgeous Skywheel, and stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. On the south end of the strand you will find the Murrells Inlet Marsh Walk offering stunning views of beautiful marshes, local waterfront restaurants, shops, and coffee stands, as well as opportunities to get out on the water in a pirate cruise if you choose.

5. Don't forget your workout!
Vacation doesn't always mean a break from your workout routine so, for those who seek a place to workout while they are on vacation, we have options. My favorite is the North Myrtle Beach Aquatic Center. They offer day passes, weekly passes, monthly passes, and yearly passes. They offer a full cardio section, classes, pickleball courts, basketball courts, a walking track, indoor swimming, weights, and more including a sauna! If the YMCA is more your speed there are several locations in Myrtle Beach. If you love yoga, then you have to check out YogaSix in North Myrtle Beach! There are also several small gyms sprinkled about the area so we definitely have you covered if you like to work out while on vacation.

I hope you found this helpful! Stay tuned for more of my favorite things.
